abstract | 1307574 Synergistic antibiotic compositions CIBA-GEIGY AG 17 March 1970 [24 March 1969 24 Feb 1970] 12801/70 Heading A5B Antibacterial and growth-promoting compositions comprise a synergistic mixture of: (A) an antibiotically active derivative of rifamycin S, SV or B or a salt thereof and (B) an antibiotic selected from the penicillins, cephalosporins, streptomycins, kanamycins, gentamycins, tetracyclines, macrolides, polypeptide antibiotics and chloramphenicol (and salts thereof). They may be in conventional forms for oral and parenteral administration including veterinary feeds and premixes. Preferred compounds of type (A) are the 3-amino derivatives and other suitable derivatives are the ethylamide of rifamycin B and the 25-O-desacetyl derivatives of the semi-synthetic derivatives (A). Numerous specific examples of both components (A) and (B) are given. |
