abstract 1303839 Asymmetric thiophosphoric acid derivatives AGENCE NATIONALE DE VALORISATION DE LA RECHERCHE 23 Feb 1970 [27 Feb 1969 18 Feb 1970] 8592/70 Heading C2P The invention comprises compounds of Formula I: where R is C 1-3 alkyl, R<SP>1</SP> is C 1-3 aliphatic and R<SP>11</SP> is hydrogen or C 1-3 aliphatic or R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> together form a 3-carbon chain linking O to CH, and A is an aliphatic or araliphatic hydrocarbon radical which is unsubstituted or substituted by one or more chlorine atoms or alkoxy, alkenoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, benxyloxycarbonyl, alkenoxycarbonyl, alkoxycarbonylcarbonyl or cyano groups or by a methylcarbamyl, morpholino. carbonyl or O,O-diisopropylphosphoroamido group or by a group of Formula II The compounds of Formula I may be prepared (a) by reacting a compound of Formula III with trimethylamine to obtain a salt of Formula IV: which may be isolated, and reacting this salt with a compound XA, where X is halogen, or (b) by converting a compound of Formula V: in to an alkali metal salt, and reacting this salt first with sulphur and then with a compound XA. The intermediates of Formula V may be prepared (a) by reacting phosphorus trichloride with a suitable alcohol or (b) by reacting a di-(R<SP>1</SP>-O-CH[R<SP>11</SP>]-CH 2 -] phosphite with a dialkyl phosphite. The compounds of Formula I have fungicidal and rodenticidal properties and may be used as the active ingredients in conventional pesticidal compositions.
