abstract 1302736 Smoke - producing projectiles LINDESBERGS INDUSTRI AB 24 March 1970 14315/70 Heading F3A [Also in Division C1] A smoke or gas producing composition comprises a smoke or gas producing liquid mixed with a porous absorbent powder consisting of grains all of which are smaller than 6 mm., but at least 85% by weight of which are larger than 0À125 mm. Preferably the grains are of non- uniform size and are jagged in shape and porous, the powder being free from absorbed gases and moisture. The liquid may be added to the powder under vacuum. Suitable absorbent material is powdered carbon, calcium silicate clinker, and volcanic ash. Smoke and gas producing liquids referred to are titanium tetrachloride, silicon tetrachloride, chlorosulphonic acid, and stannic chloride. The composition may be used in spin-stabilized grenades, rocket heads, or bombs.
