abstract 1302353 Fluorene derivatives SANDOZ Ltd 23 April 1970 [3 June 1969] 19446/70 Addition to 1244348 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (R = tert.-pentyl or 3-pentyl) and their salts are prepared by reacting 4-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)- 9-fluorenone and/or 4-(3-chloro- or bromo-2- hydroxypropoxy)-9-fluorenone with RNH 2 , optionally followed by salt formation. The preparation of the fluorenone starting materials by standard methods is described. The above compounds are #-adrenergic blocking agents, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
