abstract | 1302248 Hydantoin and dihydrouracil compounds CIBA-GEIGY AG 17 March 1970 [27 March 1969] 12873/70 Heading C2C [Also in Division C3] Novel hydantoin and dihydrouracil derivatives of the Formula I wherein each of R 1 and R 3 is a hydrogen atom or an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon radical; each at R 2 and R 4 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical; or R 1 and R 2 together form a divalent aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical; and n is 1 or 2; are prepared from the corresponding diamines by [a] reacting them or their salts with phosgene, or [b] converting them with carbon dioxide to the corresponding carbamic acids or their betaine-like salts and reacting these with phosgene. The compounds may be employed in curable mixtures together with polyhydroxyl compounds (see Division C3). |
