abstract | 1299304 Sterile effervescent beverage CARNATION CO 19 April 1971 [4 May 1970] 9913/71 Heading C6E A sterile effervescent beverage may be obtained by separately preparing a sterile aerated water phase and a sterile aqueous carbohydrate syrup phase which are introduced into a sterile container in a sterile atmosphere under aseptic conditions, and closing with a sterile cover, the product having a solids content of 5-25wt%. The aerated water phase may contain a gas selected from trichlorofluoromethane, dichlorofluoromethane, chlorotrifluoromethane, tetrafluoromethane, trifluoromethane, carbon dioxide, and nitrous oxide. The carbohydrate may be selected from sucrose, dextrose fructose, lactose, maltose, and invert sugar. Also present in the syrup may be fat, protein, emulsifier, and stabilizer. The syrup may be homogenized to form an emulsion. The product preferably has a pH below 6À4 which may be adjusted by the addition of acids and salts. |
