titleOfInvention Substituted aromatic n-methylcarbamates and their use as insecticides
abstract 1298774 Alkynyloxyphenyl N-methyl carbamates BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODAFABRIK AG 8 May 1970 [10 May 1969] 22277/70 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of the Formula I where R<SP>1</SP> denotes hydrogen or methyl, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are identical or different and each denotes hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, at most two of the radicals R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> denoting hydrogen and R<SP>4</SP> denotes hydrogen, methyl or hydroxymethyl. They are prepared by reacting the corresponding pyrocatechol monoalkynyl ether with the appropriate carbonyl chloride or methyl isocyanate. Pyrocatechol monobutyn - 1 - yl - 3 - ether is prepared by reacting pyrocatechol with isobutynyl benzene sulphonate. Pyrocatechol monobutyn-2-yl.1-ether is prepared from pyrocatechol and 1-bromo-butyn-2. The compounds of Formula I may be used as insecticides.
