abstract 1298651 Stabilizing polymers AMERICAN CYANAMID CO 8 Jan 1971 [22 Jan 1970] 1095/71 Addition to 1206262 Heading C3P [Also in Division C2] A polymer is stabilized against oxidative deterioration by incorporating therein as an antioxidant a compound of formula wherein R<SP>1</SP> is a branched-chain (C 3 to C 12 ) alkyl, z is 0 or 1, n is 2, 3 or 4, and Y is the residue of an organic polycarboxylic acid. Specified polymers are polypropylene, polystyrene, ABS resins, polyamides, polyacetals, natural rubber, and ethylene-propylene copolymer rubbers. An example is given in which polypropylene is stabilized.
