abstract | 1298433 Photo initiator BAYER AG 6 May 1971 [8 May 1970 13 Feb 1971] 13414/71 Heading C3P [Also in Division C2] A polymer is obtained by photopolymerizing a composition comprising a photopolymerizable compound and, as a photo-initiator, a compound of the formula where R<SP>1</SP> is H, alkyl, cycloalkyl or phenyl, R<SP>2</SP> is H or methyl, X is H, ammonium, substituted ammonium or a monovalent or divalent metal cation, n is 1 or, when X is a divalent cation, 2, provided that X is not H when R<SP>1</SP> is alkyl or phenyl nor when R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are both H. The photopolymerizable compound may contain a carbon-carbon double bond activated, for example, by a halogen atom or a nitrile, carbonyl, carboxyl, carbalkoxy, carbonamido, ether or aryl group. The composition may further comprise an unsaturated polyester derived from an α,#-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid. |
