1298084 Pharmaceutical capsules and the like SOC D'ETUDES DE RECHERCHES ET D'APPLICATIONS SCIENTIFIQUES ET MEDICALES and R CLAUDE 24 Dec 1969 [31 Dec 1968] 62919/69 Heading ASB [Also in Division B8] Pharmaceutical forms such as capsules having a self-supporting "shell" are prepared by shaping, in the plastic state (e.g. by injection moulding or heat-moulding), one or more substances selected from: vinylpyrrolidonevinyl acetate copolymers, polyacrylic acid, polymethacrylates, methacrylate copolymers, polyoxyethylene having a M.W. between 600,000 and 4,000,000, hydroxypropyl cellulose and polyvinyl alcohol having an ester index above 200, optionally with the addition of one or more plasticizers, release agents, antioxidants and fillers. Examples relate largely to the formation of capsules which may be adapted to release their contents in specific regions of the intestinal tract, e.g. enterically. |
