abstract 1296333 4 - Sulphamoyl - m - toluidines BOEHRINGER MANNHEIM GmbH 9 July 1971 [15 July 1970] 32336/71 Heading C2C Novel compounds (I) (including salts thereof) where R 1 is Ph, furyl or thienyl, R 2 is CO 2 H or tetrazolyl-(5) and n is 1 or 2 are made by standard methods including cyclization to give the tetrazole nucleus. The following compounds are also prepared:- 2 - chloro - 5 - sulphamoyl - (and chlorosulphonyl) - p - toluic acids, 3 - chloro - 4 - tetrazolyl - (5) - toluene, 5 - chloro - 2 - sulphamoyl- (and - chlorosidphonyl) - 4 - tetrazolyl - (5)- toluenes, 4 - sulphamoyl - 6 - carboxy - m - toluidine and 2 - chloro - 5 - sulphamoyl - p - tolunitrile (obtained from the corresponding amide which is itself obtained from the corresponding acid chloride). Pharmaceutical preparations possessing diuretic and saluretic properties contain (I) as active ingredient.
