titleOfInvention Stabilizing trans-diethylstilbestrol
abstract 1293289 Stabilizing trans-diethylstilbestrol ELI LILLY & CO 25 May 1971 [12 June 1970] 17050/71 Heading C2C Stabilized trans-diethylstilbestrol compositions comprise in admixture with said compound a S-containing compound selected from (1) inorganic S compound selected from ammonium, alkali metal, and alkaline earth metal sulphides and polysulphides, thiophosphoric acid, thiophosphonic acid, hydrosulphuric acid, hydrosulphurous acid and alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium and amine salts of such acids; (2) elemental S in the presence of a base and (3) a compound R-(C=Y) n -S-Z, where R is amidino, di-1-40-alkylamino, 1-4C alkoxy, 1-18C alkyl, 2-18C alkenyl, 2-18C alkynyl, 5-10C cycloalkyl, 5-12 C bicycloalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl, or 1-18C alkyl, substituted by COOH, halo, NH 2 , 1-4C alkoxy or di-1-4C alkylamino; Y is O or S; n is 0 or 1; Z is H, alkali or alkaline earth metal cation, 1-4C alkanoyl, 1-4C alkyl, benzyl or a group -S-CO-R<SP>1</SP>; R<SP>1</SP> is 1-4C alkyl, phenyl, naphthyl, pyridyl, pyrimidyl, pyrryl, thiazyl or thiazolyl, provided that if R is di-1-4C alkylamino or 1-4C alkoxy, n is 1 and Y is S and if R is amidino, n is 0 and Z is 1-4C alkyl or benzyl. Such stabilized compositions are used in animal feed premixes since the trans-diethylstilbestrol is a growth promotant for animals.
