abstract | 1289712 Dyeing hair DART INDUSTRIES Inc 27 Aug 1969 [28 Aug 1968 17 Feb 1969] 42623/69 Heading D1B [Also in Divisions C4 and Fl] An oxidation hair dye comprising o-aminophenol, pyroyallol, resorcinol and o-nitro-pphenylenediamine is kept isolated from a hydrogen peroxide composition in a package container until actuation of valves communicating with each composition and the application of pressure results in the mixing of portions of each of the compositions and the dispensing of the resulting hair dye from the package. The package may comprise a twochambered container having a rigid separating wall with each composition pressurised. Preferably the oxidation hair dye is contained within a flexible bag surrounded by the pressurized hydrogen peroxide in the main body portion of the container. The pressure may be supplied by a propellant in liquid gas form, having a vapour pressure of 12-85 p.s.i. at 70F. Alternatively the oxidation hair dye may be in a chamber surrounding a dip tube in the pressurised hydrogen peroxide so that the vapour pressure of the latter acts upon the oxidation hair dye to dispense both compositions. Examples are given of specific compositions giving different coloured hair dyes. The amount of oxidising agent may be sufficient to warm the dispersed hair dye by heat liberated on reduction and/or decomposition. |
