1288128 Microencapsulated dyestuffs compositions L'OREAL 4 Feb 1970 [4 Feb 1969] 5279/70 Heading D1B Compositions in the form of a paste or a solid body which do not contain an oxidising agent suitable for the direct dyeing of keratinic fibres e.g. hair, eyebrows comprise a plurality of microcapsules having a diameter of 50 to 800 microns containing at least one dyestuff which can dye keratinic fibres in the absence of an added oxidising agent. Preferably each microcapsule contains a single compound and mixtures of microcapsules may be present. The dyestuffs used include direct and rapid oxidation dyestuffs. The encapsulating material is preferably a polyethylene, m.p., 85-140‹C, or cellulose acetophthalate which breaks under pressure of application or disintegrates in the presence of water. Other adjuvants used to form the paste or solid body include sodium stearate, sorbitol syrup, water, alcohol, perfume, white ceresine, hydrogenated cottonseed oil, castor oil, carnauba wax, mineral oil, vaseline, stearic acid, triethanolamine and in addition sodium carbonate which may be microencapsulated. The dye composition may be applied in the form of a stick or pencil or a slab which can be used with a moist brush or as a coated paper napkin. |
