abstract | 1287198 Enamine copolymers BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 23 Jan 1970 [24 Jan 1969] 3366/70 Headings C3G and C3P [Also in Division C2] A copolymer of an acrylic ester and a novel imido enamine of the formula wherein R is one of the radicals where R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are alkyl or aryl radicals, hydrogen atoms, or joined together, denote an alkylene radical of 3 to 10 methylene groups, the benzene ring being unsubstituted or substituted with, for example, inert substituents and/or further aromatic or quinonoid condensed rings, and R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> are alkyl or aralkyl groups or hydrogen atoms, is prepared by heating a mixture of methyl methacrylate or n-butyl acrylate and the imido enamine in a solution of toluene and azoisobutyronitrile. Grafting of acrylonitrile and blending of the graphed product with polystyrene are also mentioned. |
