titleOfInvention | Process for the manufacture of 2-chlorethanephosphonic acid dichloride |
abstract | 1283678 2-Chlorethanephosphonic acid di- Chloride FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 19 April 1971 [28 March 1970 19 Jan 1971] 25392/71 Heading C2P 2-Chlorethanephosphonic acid dichloride is prepared by reacting ethanephosphonic acid dichloride with a chlorinating agent, which may be chlorine, sulphuryl chloride, dichloromonoxide, disulphurdichloride, thionyl chloride or nitrosyl chloride. The reaction may be carried out in an inert solvent and is preferably effected in the absence of atmospheric oxygen, for example in the presence of an inert gas, and the reaction temperature may be from- 20 to +250 C. The reaction may be initiated by a free-radical-forming substance, or by irradiation with light or with high-energy rays, for example X-rays and gamma rays. The chlorination is preferably discontinued when a degree of chlorination of 50 to 70% has been attained. |
