These compounds may be prepared by (a) reacting a compound of formula or a salt thereof with a reagent capable of cleaving the ether linkage or (b) by reacting a compound of formula with a complex metal hydride reducing agent under anhydrous conditions followed by hydrolysing the product, R and n in the above two formulĀµ being the same as defined above.
