titleOfInvention | Disazo dyes |
abstract | 1279555 Disazo dyes HODOGAYA CHEMICAL CO Ltd 17 April 1970 [13 May 1969] 18586/70 Heading C4P Basic disazo dyes have the general formula wherein R 1 is an alkyl radical having 1-4 carbon atoms or an optionally substituted phenyl radical; R 2 is H or an alkyl radical having 1-4 carbon atoms; R 3 is H, halogen or C 1 -C 4 alkyl or alkoxy; R 4 is a C 1 -C 4 alkyl radical or a benzyl radical and Z<SP>(-)</SP> represents an anion. The dyes are produced by tetrazotizing guanazole and coupling it with an indole derivative having a hydrogen atom at the 3- position and not containing an acid radical capable of being dissociated in water and thereafter quaternizing the produced disazo compound with an alkylating or benzylating agent to introduce the radical R 4 . The dyes give red shades on cotton mordanted with tartar, emetic and tannin, cellulose acetate, paper, silk, leather and synthetic fibres having an acidic group as dye-site. |
