abstract 1277542 Photographic silver halide colour materials AGFA-GEVAERT A G 30 April 1970 [3 May 1969] 20774/70 Heading G2C [Also in Division C2] A photographic silver halide colour material contains a cyan-forming coupler a compound of the formula:- where A is H, halogen or sulpho; R is the group which is linked to the CO of the above formula via one of the two N atoms; n is 2 or 3; F is a radical which renders the compound resistant to diffusion and which is linked to the second N atom or group R either directly or via CO, CONH, or COO; and Z completes a condensed benzene or tetrahydrobenzene ring. An azo masking coupler is preferably also present of the formula:- where R 1 is carboxyl or sulpho; R 2 is H or acylamino; R 3 is H or halogen but is H if R 2 is acylamino; R 4 is H or halogen but is halogen if R 2 is H; X is dialylamino, alkoxy or phenylthio; and Y is H, carboxyl, sulpho or mono or dialkyl sulphamyl.
