Fluorinated quinoxalines in which the carbocyclic ring is fully substituted by fluorine and chlorine atoms, at least three substituents being fluorine, and the heterocyclic ring is fully substituted by fluorine atoms and/or C 1-6 alkoxy groups, are prepared by reaction of hexachloroquinoxaline with anhydrous potassium fluoride, followed if desired by reaction with a sodium alkoxide in an alkanol. The products have fungicidal, herbicidal and molluscicidal activity.
