abstract | 1,272,665. Animal feeds. DAWE'S LABORATORIES Inc. 28 July, 1969, No. 37724/69. Heading A2B. An animal feed having vitamin K activity comprises an addition product of menadione and a water-soluble bisulphite salt and 2-50% by wt. of the addition product of an aliphatic aci-reductone having the formula: where R=hydrogen, C 1 to C 8 alkyl group, a mono- or poly-hydroxy substituted C 1 to C 8 alkyl group or a carboxylic acid group; R'= hydrogen, C 1 -C 8 alkyl or alkoxy group or a hydroxy group, or a salt or ester thereof or a lactone formed therefrom, or an alicyclic aci-reductone having the formula: where X=C 1 to C 8 alkylene group or a mono- or poly-hydroxy substituted C 1 to C 8 alkylene group, or a salt or ester thereof. The addition product may be menadione sodium bisulphite and the aci-reductone may be sodium or calcium erythorbate, calcium dihydroxyacrylate, diethyldihydroxymaleate, calcium ascorbate, dimethyl reductone, sodium reductinate, 3, 4 dihydroxytetrone, hydroxydimedone and triose reductone. |
