abstract 1,266,553. Unsaturated phosphoric acid esters. SANDOZ Ltd. 23 July, 1969 [9 Aug., 1968; 1 Oct., 1968], No. 37149/69. Heading C2P. Phosphoric acid esters of the general formula where R 1 and R 2 are C 1-3 alkyl, R 3 is C 1-5 alkyl and X is H, Cl or Br, with the proviso that X does not represent Cl or Br when R 3 is a tertiary alkyl radical, are prepared by reacting a compound of formula with a compound of formula R 2 OZ, where Y is Cl or Br and Z is H or an alkali metal, an acid acceptor being used when Z is H. The reaction is preferably carried out in a solvent at a temperature between -10‹ C. and 20‹ C., using stoichiometric quantities of reagents and acid acceptor (when present). The products have insecticidal, acaricidal and nematocidal properties and those wherein (a) R 1 and R 2 are the same or different C 1-3 alkyl, R 3 is t-butyl or tamyl, and X is H and (b) R 1 and R 2 are each different C 1-3 alkyl, R 3 is a primary or secondary C 1-5 alkyl group and X is Cl or Br, are claimed per se. 0 - (1 - Carboethoxy - 1 - propen - 2 - yl) . phos. phorodichloridate is prepared by reacting acetoacetic acid ethyl ester with POCl 3 in molar proportions in the presence of triethylamine. 0 - (I . Carbo t - butoxy - 1 - propen - 2 - yl)- phosphorodichloridate and 0 - (1 - carbomethoxy- 1 - propen - 2 - yl) - phosphorodichloridate are prepared in a similar manner. 0-Ethyl.0-(1. carbomethoxy - 1 - propen - 2 - yl) - phosphoromonochloridate and 0 - n - propyl - 0 - (1 - carbethoxy - 1 - propen - 2 - yl) - phosphoromonochloridate are prepared by reacting the corresponding dichloridate with ethanol and npropanol respectively. These compounds and compositions containing them may be used as insecticides, acaricides or nematodicides.
