1,265,596. Golf balls. DUNLOP HOLDINGS Ltd. 28 May, 1970 [28 May, 1969], No. 25710/70. Heading A6D. [Also in Division C3] A golf ball comprises a core of a composition comprising a rubber, a polyfunctional monomer, a polymerisation initiator, a filler and a silane coupling agent which will react with the rubber and the filler. Exemplified cores are from polybutadiene; monomer; peroxide; silica, urea-formaldehyde resin powder or melamine-formaldehyde resin powder as filler; and vinyl tris (#-methoxyethoxy) silane, γ-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxy silane, mercaptopropyl trimethoxysilane, N-aminoethyl-aminopropyl trimethoxy silane and y-glycidoxypropyl trimethoxy silane. The cores can be coated with adhesive and then covered with a composition based on a partial sodium salt of an ethylene-methacrylic acid copolymer or a mixture of balate and synthetic transpolyisoprene. |
