The invention comprises compounds of the formula wherein R represents an optionally substituted aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical. They may be obtained by reacting malonic acid dichloride with an isocyanate of formula RNCO in the presence of a catalyst, at a temperature from - 70‹ to 50‹ C. and removing the HCl formed by heating, after the initial exothermic reaction has abated. Specified catalysts are halides of elements of Groups Ib to Vb or IVa in the Periodic Table. Examples are given for the production of the compounds. They are useful as plant protection agents, particularly as systemic insecticides. |
