titleOfInvention | Preparation of hydroxybenzyl esters of cyanuric acid |
abstract | 1,261,696. Stabilizing polyolefins. B. F. GOODRICH CO. 27 May, 1970 [27 May, 1969], No. 25419/70. Heading C3P. [Also in Division C2] A stabilizer for an α-olefin polymer comprises a hydroxybenzyl-substituted isocyanurate prepared by heating together a phenol or mixture of phenols, cyanuric acid or a partial ester of cyanuric acid, and formaldehyde or a compound liberating formaldehyde under the reaction conditions at a temperature of 70‹ to 180‹ C. (see Division C2). An example describes the stabilization of a high-density polyethylene by suspending the polyethylene in an acetone solution of tris-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl) isocyanurate. |
