abstract | 1,256,774. Anthranilic acid derivatives- DUMEX (DUMEX Ltd.) A.S. 3 Sept., 1970 [5 Sept., 1969], No. 44037/69. Heading C2C. The invention comprises novel compounds I I and a process for making therapeutic compounds I by treating II with a base (R<SP>1</SP> is aralkyl or a heterocyclic group, R<SP>2</SP> is halogen or CF 3 and R<SP>3</SP> is CO 2 H, CO 2 . alkyl or CN); II are themselves obtained by reacting a 2-halo-4-R<SP>2</SP>-5- sulphamoyl benzoic acid with R<SP>1</SP>NH.Ph and subjecting the resulting compound to nitrosation (R<SP>3</SP> is CO 2 H), or by reacting a 2-R<SP>2</SP>-4-halo-5- nitro-benzenesulphonamide with R<SP>1</SP>NH.Ph, reducing the nitro group in the product so obtained, diazotizing the resulting compound and effecting treatment with copper cyanide and thereafter effecting nitrosation (R<SP>3</SP> is CN). Esterification provides II where R<SP>3</SP> is C0 2 alkyl. |
