titleOfInvention | Process for preparing hexaorganoditin compounds |
abstract | 1,255,829. Process for preparing hexaorganoditin compounds. M & T INTERNATIONAL N.V. 4 Nov., 1969 [4 Nov., 1968], No. 54059/69. Heading C2J. A process for preparing a hexaorganoditin compound of formula R 3 SnSnR 3 wherein each R is an alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl or aralkyl group which may be inertly substituted, comprises reacting a triorganotin formate R 3 Sn- OCHO with a triorganotin hydride R 3 SnH, which latter may be produced in situ by pyrolysis of the formate. The reaction is usually effected at above 100 C. in an inert diluent and in an inert atmosphere. In the examples hexa-n-butylditin and hexa-n-propylditin are prepared. |
