[Also in Division C3] In example IIIA, V, VI steel panels, are clean and the other wiped with oil, one coated with a composition comprising a soya-acid esterified styrene-allyl alcohol copolymer and polyvinyl butyral, dissolved in an n-butanol/ toluene mixture, chromium trioxide dissolved in water, aluminium powder and a cobalt naphthenate drier, and in addition an epoxy, zinc rich primer (single package) and a two package zinc rich weldable primer. Also coated on two similar steel panels is the above composition in which the styrene/allyl alcohol copolymer is absent. In example VIII a composition comprising a maleic anhydride adduct of a linseed fatty acid esterified styrene/allyl alcohol copolymer, polyvinyl butyral, toluene and n-butanol, are coated on a steel panel. In example IX part D, a glass panel is coated with a composition of a soya acid esterified styrene/allyl alcohol copolymer dissolved in dimethyl formamide. This example is also repeated using polyvinyl formal instead of polyvinyl butyral. |
