Novel compounds of the Formula (I) wherein R denotes H, halogen or C 1-4 alkyl, and R<SP>1</SP> denotes H, halogen,-CN or C 1-4 alkyl, are obtained by oxidizing the corresponding 3- benzal-thiochromanone derivatives, e.g. with H 2 0 2 , perbenzoic or m-chloroperbenzoic acids. Pharmaceutical compositions having inflammatory action comprise compounds of Formula I above with usual diluents for administration by injection.
