abstract 1,250,652. Alkyd resin coating. HOOKER CHEMICAL CORP. 30 Oct., 1968 [13 Nov., 1967; 26 Jan., 1968], No. 51533/68. Heading B2F. [Also in Division C3] Coating compositions utilisable for coating metals (especially steel) are made by dissolving an alkyd resin derived from nitrilotriacetic acid, a diacid and a diol (see Division C3) in a solvent (e.g. an alcohol and/or hydrocarbon) or by neutralising the resins with ammonia, an amine or an amino alcohol and dissolving them in water. The coating compositions may also contain a cross-linking agent, e.g. hexamethoxy methyl melamine.
