titleOfInvention Olefin polymerisation catalyst
abstract 1,241,134. Polymerization of olefins. MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 23 May, 1969 [25 May, 19681, No. 26587/69. Heading C3P. Olefins are polymerized at a temperature from ambient to 250‹ C. and a pressure of 1-100 atmospheres in the presence of a catalyst composition comprising (a) chromium oxide supported on a heat resistant oxide and (b) an organoaluminium compound of the general formula R 2 AlOR wherein each R is independently a hydrocarbon, preferably having 1-14 carbons. Examples describe the polymerization of ethylene, optionally containing a small amount of propylene, in a n-heptane solvent in the presence of hydrogen, using as catalyst chronic anhydride (CrO 3 ) supported on silica and methoxydiethylaluminium, ethoxydiethylaluminium, methoxydiisobutylaluminium and phenoxydiethylaluminium.
