titleOfInvention Retarding water evaporation
abstract 1,235,839. Conserving water. DOW CORNING CORP. 15 July, 1969 [15 Aug., 1968], No. 35480/69. Heading E1T. [Also in Division C3] Water evaporation from an aqueous surface in contact with the atmosphere is retarded by dispersing organosilicon compounds (see Specification for comprehesive lists) on the surface. The aqueous surface may be that in an open tank, ditch, trough, pan, kettle, bowl, barrel, dish, closed vessel with drying atmosphere passing through it, pond, lake or a reservoir. The amount of compound dispersed affects the rate of evaporation.
