Novel compounds I in which R 1 is 1-5C alkenyl or haloalkenyl, 3-8C cycloalkenyl, arylalkenyl, 2-5C alkynyl or cyclopropyl and R 2 and R 3 are H, halo, 1-5C alkyl or alkoxy, aryl, CF 3 , or R 2 and R 3 together represent -OCH 2 O- and acid addition salts thereof are prepared by condensation of R 1 X (X = halo) with a compound III to give a compound IV followed by reaction with ethyl orthoformate at 100-200 C. while distilling off the ethanol formed. Compounds IV are isolated as intermediates. Pharmaceutical compositions for oral or parenteral use as analgesic, anti-tussive, antiinflammatory and anti-rheumatic agents comprise a compound I together with a suitable carrier. |
