abstract | 1,233,828. Benzodiazepine derivatives. F. HOFFMANN-LA ROCHE & CO. A.G. 11 Nov., 1969 [18 Nov., 1969], No. 55175/69. Heading C2C. Compounds of the general formula (R, R 1 , R 2 = H, halogen, CF 3 , C 1-7 alkyl, alkoxy or alkylthio; R 3 = H, CH 3 ; X = C 1-7 , alkoxy, C 2-8 acyloxy) are prepared by (a) treating a compound of the formula with BX (B = H, alkali metal) or (b)-when X = alkoxy-treating a compound of the formula with a strong base and an alkanol. They may be converted to compounds of the formula (R 4 = OH, R 5 = H or R 4+5 = additional C-N bond) by treatment with a complex metal hydride, optionally followed by dehydration. |
