abstract 1,231,269. Photographic diazotype materials. EASTMAN KODAK CO. July 25, 1968, [July 31, 1967], No.35565/68. Heading G2C. A two-component diazotype composition comprises a diazonium salt of formula wherein R is alkoxy with 1 to 8 carbon atoms and 2 is an anion and which may be admixed with a diazonium salt of formula wherein R 1 is alkyl with 1 to 8 carbon atoms and 2 is an anion, and a mixture of blue dye- and yellow dye-forming couplers, the blue dye-forming coupler being either of formula wherein R 2 is alkoxy with 1 to 8 carbon atoms or of formula wherein R 3 is the same as R 2 and is halogen, or a mixture of couplers of both formulae, the yellow dye-forming coupler being either of formula: wherein R 4 is hydrogen or alkyl with 1-8 carbon atoms and R 5 is alkyl with 1-8 carbon atoms or R 4 and R 5 together complete a heterocyclic ring with one nitrogen atom, or of formula wherein R 6 and R 7 are alkyl with 1-8 carbon atoms, the molar ratio of the coupler to yellow coupler being from 1À5 - 2À5 when the yellow coupler is of formula V and from 0À5 - 1À5 when the yellow coupler is of formula VI. The composition also preferably comprises a binder, and an organic acid and may be coated on a support. The composition may also contain a phenol for stabilizing the azo dye produced on exposure and development as set out in Specification 1, 231, 270, the phenol being of one of the following formulae: wherein R 8 to R 16 are alkyl, R 17 and R 8 are hydrogen or alkyl, R 19 is hydroxyl, alkyl or alkoxy, R 20 is alkyl or cycloalkyl and R 21 is alkylene with 1-4 carbon atoms. In the examples, a solution of one component of Formulae I - V or Formulae I, III and V or Formulae I, III and VI, celluloseacetate, 5-sulpho-salicylic acid and optionally two dye-stabilizing phenols are coated on a polyester support, imagewise exposed and developed with ammonia which may be anhydrous ammonia used under pressure.
