A photographic light-sensitive element contains at least one gelatine layer containing as a hardener an aqueous dispersion having a mean particle size of 0À01-1À0 micron of a copolymer prepared by copolymerizing, in the presence of an anionic surface active agent, glycidyl methacrylate or glycidyl acrylate and a vinyl compound such as butyl methacrylate, butyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, vinyl acetate, styrene, butadiene, isoprene, acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile. The anionic surface active agent may be lauryl sulphate, sodium alkylbenzene sulphonate or sodium 13- (p -nonylphenoxy)-5:8:11-trioxatridecyl-1 -sulphate. The gelatine layer may be a silver halide emulsion layer or an antihalation layer. |
