Divisions A5 and C2] Seeds are treated with a biocidal composition comprising a compound of the general formula where Z is H, C 1-4 alkyl, halogen or cyano, Z<SP>1</SP> is C 1-4 alkylsulphinyl, aralkylsulphinyl of up to 8 carbon atoms, C 1-4 alkylsulphonyl, or aralkylsulphonyl of up to 8 carbon atoms when Z is cyano, Z<SP>1</SP> is aralkyl of up to 8 carbon atoms, halogen or C 1-4 haloalkyl when Z is C 1-4 alkyl or halogen, and Z<SP>1</SP> can be C 1-4 alkyl when Z is C 1-4 alkyl, and Z<SP>1</SP> is aralkyl of up to 8 carbon atoms, halogen or C 1-4 haloalkyl when Z is hydrogen or 3-hydroxy-isothiazole, 5-methyl-3- hydroxyisothiazole, 4-bromo-5-methyl-3- hydroxyisothiazole, 4-cyano-5-methylthio- 3-hydroxyisothiazole, or a 4-cyano-3- hydroxyisothiazole containing an aralkylthio group of up to 8 carbon atoms in the 5-position. |
