titleOfInvention | Process for synthesizing truxene |
abstract | 1,224,267. Graphite. UNITED STATES ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION. 4 Aug., 1969 [9 Sept., 1968], No. 38918/69. Heading C1A. [Also in Division C5] Graphite is obtained by heating polymerized beta-truxene, beta-truxene being a C 27 H 18 polycyclic hydrocarbon, at a temperature of at least 2700‹ C. in a non-oxidizing atmosphere. Graphite is also obtained by heating mixtures of polymerized beta-truxene with a non- graphitizable thermoplastic resin first to effect carbonization and then to effect graphitization as above. The resin may be polymerized alphatruxene or partially polymerized furfuryl alcohol. |
