titleOfInvention Process for the manufacture of non-caking blends comprising sodium tripolyphosphate hexahydrate and sodium nitrilotriacetate monohydrate or dihydrate.
abstract 1,219,749. Non-caking sodium tripolyphosphate blend. KNAPSACK A.G. 17 June, 1969 [18 June, 1968], No. 30604/69. Heading C5D. A non-caking blend of sodium tripolyphosphate hexahydrate and sodium nitrilotriacetate monohydrate or dihydrate is prepared by spraying a fine mist of an aqueous sodium nitrilotriacetate solution at 0‹ to 80‹ C. on to anhydrous sodium tripolyphosphate in quantities at least sufficient to provide all the water needed for the formation of the hexahydrate and, when an excess proportion of water is used, simultaneously flowing a gas and/or air stream over the sprayed material to evaporate the water in excess. The blend may be incorporated in detergent formations containing surfactants, e.g. alkylarylsulphonates, soap and fatty alcohol polycol ether; builders, e.g. sulphates, silicates, carboxymethylcellulose; and bleaching agents, e.g. sodium perborate.
