titleOfInvention Process for concentrating fish protein
abstract 1,217,783. Extraction apparatus. BELOIT CORP. 27 May, 1968 [28 July, 1967], No. 25259/68. Heading B1Q. [Also in Division C5] Soluble fish oils and other lipid materials are extracted from fish protein with isopropanol by a two stage extraction in which the protein is introduced through pipe 62 and mixed with isopropanol. The mixture is transferred to the centrifuge G where the solvent containing a very high concentration of extract is removed at 70. Further solvent is added at 74 and the solvent removed is recycled to mixer 64. The solid is mixed with solvent from the second portion of the second stage H and by pipe 78 fed to the first portion of the second stage by pipe 84 while solvent removed in the first portion of the second stage is fed by pipe 74 to the second portion of the first stage. Fresh solvent is introduced by pipe 88 to the second portion of the second stage and the used solid is discharged at 86.
