titleOfInvention 03-hydrocarbon substituted steroids
abstract 1,215,702. Gonahexaenes and gonatetraenes. TAKEDA YAKUHIN KOGYO K.K. 13 Nov., 1967 [11 Nov., 1966; 16 Dec., 1966; 11 Jan., 1967; 9 Feb., 1967], No. 33549/70. Heading C2U. 13 - Hydrocarbon substituted 8,14-secogona - 1,3,5(10),9(11),15 - pentaene - 14,17- diones, prepared as described in Specification 1,215,701, are dehydrated in the presence of an acid catalyst to give 13-hydrocarbon substituted gona - 1,3,5(10),8(14),9(11),15-hexaen- 17-ones, some of which are novel, these are reduced e.g. with a metallic hydride, to the corresponding novel 17 #-ols, and these are reduced e.g. catalytically hydrogenated, to give 13- hydrocarbon substituted gona - 1,3,5(10),8- tetraen - 17 # - ols. The racemic 17 # - ols may be resolved by standard procedures.
