[Also in Division C2] Photographic light-sensitive silver halide colour material contains in the emulsion or an adjacent layer a magenta colour coupler of the formula:- where R 1 is alkyl or cycloalkyl, R 2 is alkyl or aralkyl and R 3 is acyl having at least 6 carbon atoms, such as carboxylic acyl group derived from a long chain fatty acid or an alpha-sulpho long chain fatty acid, a benzoyl or benzene sulphonyl group substituted by an acylamino group derived from said long chain acids, or an acyl group derived from a carbonic acid monoester. The couplers have enhanced stability under tropical conditions.
