titleOfInvention | Polyimides containing 2,5-diamino-1,3,4-thiadiazole |
abstract | 1,209,460. Polyamide acids and polyimides. MONSANTO CO. 18 Dec., 1967 [21 Dec., 1966], No. 57406/67. Heading C3R. . A polyimide containing less than 2% by wt. of hydrogen consists essentially of recurring units of the formula wherein R is a tetravalent aromatic radical comprising at least one benzene ring, and can be made by reacting the diamine with a dianhydride of the formula and heating the resulting polyamide acid until the polyimide is formed. Various anhydrides wherein R contains not more than 6 C-H bonds are mentioned. In examples polyamide acids are prepared from pyromellitic anhydride (1) in demethylacetami de to give a film-casting, solution; and (2) in a 6/1 N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone/hexamethylphosphoramide mixture to give a spinning dope; and (3) from benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride in dimethylacetamide. |
