titleOfInvention Method of preparing organotin compounds
abstract 1,201,515. Organotin compounds. INSTYTUT PRZEMYSLU ORGANICZNEGO. 29 May, 1968 [30 May, 1967], No. 25604/68. Heading C2J. Organotin compounds of the general formulĀµ where R<SP>1</SP> is an alkyl radical having more than two carbon atoms, an aryl radical or an aralkyl radical, n=2 or 3, Z are the same or different radicals of an aromatic or aliphatic monocarboxylic acid and Y is the radical of an aromatic or aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, are prepared by reacting together an alkali metal salt of a mono- or di-carboxylic acid and a di- or tri-alkyl, aryl or aralkyl tin halide in water. The reaction may be effected in the presence of a surface-active agent. Examples describe the preparation of dibenzyltin dicaproate, dibenzyltin dilaurate, dibenzyltin stearate, tribenzyltin acetate, dibenzyltin benzoate, dibenzyltin adipate, dibenzyltin sebacate, dibutyltin adipate, dibutyltin dicaprylate, dibutyltin dilaurate and dioctyltin dibenzoate.
