titleOfInvention Adhesion-Resistant Organopolysiloxane Coatings
abstract 1,199,659. Adhesive coating compositions; alkoxysilylmethyl amines. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 4 June, 1968 [28 June, 1967], No. 26549/68. Headings C3S and C3T. [Also in Division B2] A solution for the provision of adhesion resistant coatings comprises an essentially linear α,# - dihydroxypolydiorganosiloxane of viscosity greater than 500 cP, preferably 10<SP>6</SP>-10<SP>7</SP> cP, at 20‹ C., an inert solvent, and an alkoxysilyl-methylamino compound, in amount 1- 25% by weight of the polysiloxane, of the formula in which n is 1, 2 or 3, a is 0 or 1, b is 0 or 1, m is an integer greater than 1, p is 0 or a positive integer at least equal to 3-n-a-b, and R is R<SP>1</SP>-, R<SP>1</SP>-O-CH 2 -CH 2 - or R<SP>1</SP> 2 N-CH 2 - CH 2 -, R<SP>1</SP> being a C 1-4 alkyl radical. Suitable solvents include toluene, xylene, benzine, chlorinated hydrocarbons and ketones. In examples solutions in toluene of and are added to an 8% solution in toluene of an a, # - dihydroxy - polydimethylsiloxane of 10<SP>6</SP> cP viscosity, and the product solution is used to coat a glassine paper. Comparative examples use as crosslinking agents (CH 3 COO) 3 SiCH 3 , (C 6 H 11 NH) 3 SiCH 3 , [C 6 H 5 CON(CH 3 )] 2 Si(CH 3 )- OC 2 H 5 and [C 2 H 5 -C(CH3)=N-O] 3 SiCH 3 in place of the above amino compounds. The aminosilane used in Example 1 is prepared by reaction of NH 3 with methyl bromomethyl diethoxysilane in acrylonitrile.
