titleOfInvention | A method of producing D-Pantoic Acid |
abstract | 1,198,530. D-pantoic acid. TAKEDA YAKUHIN KOGYO K.K. 4 Sept., 1967, No. 40299/67. Heading C2C. D-pantoic acid is produced from DL-pantoic acid by inoculating a micro-organism, which is capable of assimilating L-pantoic acid but not D-pantoic acid, into a culture medium containing DL-pantoic acid, incubating the culture until L-pantoic acid is substantially consumed and recovering D-pantoic acid therefrom. The racemic starting material may be in the form of a lactone or a salt of the acid. The pH of the culture medium is preferably 5À0-10À0 and the temperature kept at 15-50‹ C. The microorganism preferably belongs to the genus Brevibacterium, Corynebacterium, Arthrobacter or Bacillus. |
