titleOfInvention | Process for the Separation of Adductable Compounds by means of Adduct Formation with Urea |
abstract | 1,193,946. Urea adduction. SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. 12 Feb., 1969 [14 Feb., 1968], No. 7626/69. Heading C5E. In a process for the separation of one or more adductable organic compounds from a feed containing them by means of adduct formation with urea using a solvent for urea and a solvent for the feed, the solvent for the feed comprises one or more aromatic hydrocarbons and one or more components being capable of forming a solid adduct with urea under the prevailing adductformation temperature and having a boiling- point lower than that of the adductable organic chemicals. As applied to dewaxing oils the feed comprises a vacuum distillate dissolved in a toluene-heptane mixture (with comparative examples using 100% toluene and 100% heptane) and the urea is dissolved to saturation in water. Other comparative solvents mentioned (not of the invention) are pentane and cyclohexane. |
