Transparent polyamides are prepared by condensing dimethyl-bis-(4-aminocyclohexyl) methane, containing 50-70% of the trans, trans isomer, with a C 6-10 dicarboxylic acid or a polyamide forming derivative thereof, e.g. a dichloride or a diester, especially with adipic acid. From 1-80% by weight of the total polyamide forming substance of other polyamide forming materials, e.g. caprolactam, may also be condensed therewith. |
