titleOfInvention | Process for the Preparation of Chloroalkane Sulphonyl Chlorides |
abstract | 1,187,728. Chloroalkane sulphonyl chlorides. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 15 Oct., 1968 [9 Nov., 1967], No. 48832/68. Heading C2C. Chloroalkane sulphonyl chlorides of the formula Cl-(CH 2 ) x SO 2 Cl are obtained by reacting sultones of the Formula I wherein x is 3 or 4 at 40‹ to 150‹ C. with at least the stoichiometrically required quantities of chlorides of inorganic acids, in the presence of acid amides of the formula R 1 -A-NR 2 R 3 in which A represents the group -CO- or R 1 represents a hydrogen atom, a C 1-12 alkyl radical or the radical -NR 2 R 3 , and either both R 2 and R 3 represent C 1-4 alkyl groups, or one of the radicals R 2 and R 3 represents a hydrogen atom and the other represents a C 1-4 alkyl radical, or R 2 and R 3 form a 5- to 7-membered heterocyclic ring together with the nitrogen atom which links them, which heterocyclic ring may contain a further nitrogen atom or an oxygen atom as an additional hetero atom. |
