titleOfInvention Dry Working Black Image Materials
abstract 1,187,252. Photo-sensitive material containing halogen compounds. HORIZONS Inc. Sept. 12, 1967 [Oct.18, 1966], No.41678/67. Heading G2C. A photo-sensitive printout material comprises (i) an organic halogen compound having at least three halogen atoms attached to the same carbon atom e.g. iodoform (ii) a mixture of a leuco triphenyl methane dye e.g. 4, 4', 4"-tri(p-toluidino) -triphenyl methane, leuco crystal violet and leuco malachite green, a substituted skatole e.g. 5- methoxy skatole and a substituted indole e.g. 2, 5-dimethyl indole different from the skatole compound which react with the products resulting from the photo-exposure of (i) to form a grey or black image and (iii) a binder or support. The material may also contain a speed increasing compound e.g. 4-picoline-N-oxide, stabilizer e.g. triphenyl stibine, triphenyl arsine, triphenyl bismuthine triphenyl bismuthine or 2, 6-di-t -butyl cresol, thioacetamide and indole-3-carboxaldehyde. The compositions are fixed by heating.
